THE CHRONICLES OF PERIMET
Official Rules: “Thoughts from the Longhouse” Contest
1. The Summons (See announcement video)
Pyk de Dek and the Ring of the Roko Mountains are part of the Seven Rings, a world I built for my fantasy book series that will be published later this year. I've harnessed my experiences with personal trauma, combat, and recovery to build a world where readers can find strength, solace, and inspiration. I’ve written one hundred “Thoughts from the Longhouse.” Now, I want you to harness your own experiences to write a “thought.”
I will be launching a series of contests in the following months to celebrate the upcoming launch of the Malhela Tetralogy: Glamor Lost, Silent Canto, Star Abyss, and Last Logion. Some contests will be for writers, while others will be for visual artists. The first contest for writers is a call for original wisdom from the world of the Seven Rings in the style of Pyk de Dek’s "Thoughts from the Longhouse."
A quick note. “Solstice’s Son Publishing LLC” is the company I have set up to publish my books.

3a. The Authorship and Terms Pledge
-
“I certify that this 'Thought' is a product of my own human imagination and struggle. I have not used Generative AI to draft or rewrite this entry. I have read and agree to the Official Contest Rules, including the license granting Solstice’s Son Publishing LLC the right to adapt my work into a video Reel.”
-
4. Selection & Judging (Skill-Based)
Entries will be judged by Roberto Scribner on a 100-point scale based on:
-
Thematic Resonance (40 pts): Capturing the "triumph of will" and rejection of ruin.
-
Evocative Imagery (30 pts): Use of atmospheric metaphors (e.g., "the edge of the great silence").
-
Voice & Rhythm (30 pts): The cadence and emotional impact of the writing.
5. Authorship Integrity (No AI Policy)
-
The use of Generative AI/LLMs to draft or rewrite entries is strictly prohibited. Solstice’s Son Publishing LLC reserves the right to disqualify entries showing high statistical probability of AI generation and may request "Process Evidence" (drafts or notes) from finalists to verify human origin.
6. Reel Adaptation License
-
By entering, the winners grant Solstice’s Son Publishing LLC a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, and sublicensable license to edit, adapt, and produce a video Reel based on the submitted text.
-
Credit: The winners will be prominently credited by their provided Instagram handle within the Reel and its caption and will be a collaborator on the post.
-
Modifications: Solstice’s Son Publishing LLC reserves the right to make minor edits to the text for timing or cinematic flow within the Reel.
-
💡 What this means in plain English: You still own your words! By entering, you are simply giving my company permission to turn your "Thought" into a video and share it on social media forever. We might need to trim a word or two so it fits the video's timing, but you keep the copyright to your writing, and we will always tag you as the author.
7. Content Safety & Shadow-Ban Protection
-
To protect the reach of the final Reel, avoid literal mentions of self-harm or graphic violence. Use the "Longhouse" vocabulary to describe struggle (e.g., "the void," "the final silence," or "the authors of my ruin").
8. Privacy Policy & Marketing Consent
-
By entering, your email address will be added to the Solstice’s Son Publishing LLC database for updates regarding the Malhela Tetralogy launch. We will never sell your data to third parties. You may opt-out at any time via future emails.
