The World of the Seven Rings

What are the Seven Rings?

The Inner Rings

Perimet

At the center of the Seven Rings lies Perimet, the Center Kingdom, a land of strict castes and the repressive regime of mask wear. None see even their own faces from the moment of their birth and the red-robed Magiistos lurk in the shadows behind the Obsidian Throne.

The Ring of the Roko Mountains

Encircling Perimet outside the Great Wall is a Ring of knife-edged black peaks where fierce mountain tribes live with no law but that of the chipped stone knife, battling the deadly stone bears, golem, icebirds, and the elements in a deadly game of survival.

The Ring of the Great Grass Plain

Encircling the Ring of the Roko Mountains, the Great Plain is a vast sea of grass, home to the wild insect riders who have no homes but their skin houses which they move every day.

The Ring of Sand

Beyond the Great Grass Plain lies a desert of unknown breadth, where there is no water, or tree, or blade of grass. Those who enter never return, burned away by the two suns, one older and yellow, one younger and blue.

The Ring of Sea

The Magiistos tell us that a great sea encircles the desert. The tomes of the Red Robed Ones hold many secrets that they will not share, even with the Rego of Perimet, or perhaps, especially not with the Rego of Perimet.

The Ring of Ice

Beyond the seas lies a land encased in ice...What lies beneath, locked in the frozen waste, may be known only to the Magiistos.

The Ring of Darkness

"What lies at the end of the Rings? I shudder to think of a place where the suns or moon fail to shed their light upon the world, or where something so evil dwells that the horror caused our ancestors to erase all memory of it. And what lies beyond the seventh Ring? From whence do the suns and the moon originate their daily travel? These mysteries are forbidden to us by the Magiistos, and we are happy to comply."
